The NEW Statistics 112 CANNOT count towards an Upper-division requirement towards the Statistics major or the Statistics minor
If you are planning to receive a degree in the Biology Department at UCLA, make sure to consult with that Department which introductory Statistics course to take. It is our understanding that Statistics 13 is the only course they will accept. If you take another one (e.g., Statistics 10) it will not count towards that requirement and you will need to take Statistics 13 to fulfill it. Note, you will not get course or grade credit for Stat 13 if you already completed Statistics 10.
For Undergraduate College of Letters and Sciences students, one of your General Education requrements is a Quantitative Reasoning requirement. Statistics classes that will fulfill this requirement are: Statistics 10, 10H, 11, 13 or 14.
Some Medical Schools require that the students take a Statistics course. Which course varies by Medical School, so we urge you to contact the school(s) you plan applying to to determine the best course for you.
